About Kirk
KIRK ARNOLD is a native of Florence, Kentucky.
Kirk comes from a family of singers and professional musicians. From his
earliest memories his house was always filled with music.
Kirk began formal vocal studies at age 14 which in turn inspired him to
also begin piano lessons. After a year of study, he auditioned for Professor
Betty Lukashuk, then head of the keyboard department at Northern
Kentucky University. Because of his dedication and rapid musical growth,
at age 16, Professor Lukashuk recommended that he continue his classical
piano and vocal studies at Northern Kentucky University. He was part of a
program at NKU that was designed for gifted and talented high school
students. This proved to be an invaluable experience for Kirk. Through
this program he was able to experience and participate in college level
juries, recitals and master classes and earn college credits while still
attending high school.
He continued his formal education at Georgetown College, Georgetown,
KY, where he studied Piano with Daniel Tilford and Voice with Hal
Dieffenwierth. He graduated cum laude earning a B.A. in Music with a
double applied major in piano and vocal performance and a minor in
speech and drama.
From High School, through College and beyond, Kirk has performed
professionally in numerous musical venues. He has also sung lead vocals
and back-up on local, regional and national commercials and vocal
background on album projects.
He has recorded 2 CDs of original works and continues to compose in
numerous genres including contemporary Christian, praise and worship,
adult contemporary, holiday, country and new age piano.
Kirk has held positions of pianist and/or music director at several local
churches and has been teaching piano and voice for many years in the
Northern Kentucky and greater Cincinnati area.
A large number of his students have received vocal, piano or musical
theatre scholarships to numerous colleges and universities. Many of his
students are planning or already have successful music careers in various
fields, including private piano and vocal instruction, public school music
instruction, music ministry, composition, musical theatre and other live
performance venues.
